Because When I Think of Ramen, I think of Old El Paso and Totino’s

It’s because you aren’t in their target market.

I would have never imaging in a million years that the Hispanic market would be the largest target market for instant ramen but….here we are.

$2.19 and $1.5 are insane for cup noodles.

The margins on that has to be insane.

Maruchan at Kroger right now is 69 nice cents.

I’ve seen chili lime instant ramen in shops, I think they’re trying to market specifically at American consumers

These aren’t a new concept. I’ve seen Tapatio branded noodles for years.

You’ve not yet experienced the wonders of Birria Ramen, I can tell.

This screams hard financial times close in the horizon for a huge swath of the US.

Prove me wrong, please, but when the cheapest food in the market starts expanding to taste like other more expensive foods: it can’t be good.

Better than that fucked up breakfast ramen. I saw a maple sausage , egg one at my corner store and I wanted to cry/barf/run !

Never had cup of ramen, just the bags

Never had it as soup either lol always strain!

I thought the same, but went for some Birria flavored the other day and they were VERY good. They were not the Old El Paso, they were Tapatio but they had just the right amount of oil in them that made the sauce stick to the noodles and a perfect level of spice without being “hot.” So don’t knock them until you try them I guess.

I recommend the Old El Paso Chipotle corn chowder.

The fajita is pretty good. Definitely got a spicy kick to it.

However, the cheese pizza was pretty meh. Won’t bother with that one again.

These aren’t actually ramen at all. They aren’t a soup, they aren’t made with ramen noodles, these are *pasta cups* labeled as Ramen. Them being *bad* doesn’t necessarily make it stupid, but lying about the product type absolutely does to me. These are as much “ramen” cups as easy mac cups are.

Having a Monopoly on the corn shells just wasn’t enough

idk my fav flavor of buldak is taco so…… I wanna try these lol

Ignoring the branding for a bit – anything over 1.25 for cup noodles is wild. And I’m talking 1.25 for the big ones… Those little ones shouldn’t be more than $0.75-1 MAX

Ooo this looks good I would definitely try them, especially if they have a spicy one!

I’m sure those instant noodle cups are garbage, but I’ll be kicking the tires if I encounter them.

  19. Well instant ramen is nothing like real ramen anyway

i would try it – and there is only one reason why

i HAVE to believe that for this to get past marketing and development, the big heads MUST have agreed this was waaaaayyyy better than whatever else was in that market space. Like, if we are gonna spend that kinda money to develop and produce this new product, one that attacks a developed market that we have ZERO business being in, then what we got must fucking SLAP

that is the only way that should ever make it to the shelves IMO.. and for that reason, I’d try it..

and i bet i’ll still be rightfully disappointed

The brands are a little weird to see but none of those flavors sound that bad. Certainly no worse than the pumpkin spice ramen that was making the rounds around Thanksgiving.
